I love reading the offerings of other Alakai and haven't shared much myself so here is a little synopsis of my activities this spring. In May I travelled to Cape Cod for Serge's Success and Prosperity Workshop and had a wonderful time. Pamela Brennan did a superb job of putting it together. It is so good for those of us not in Hawaii to be able to meet and spend time with other alakai plus have a little time with Serge and Gloria. It helped give me a renewed outlook on what I'm doing. And the content of the conference itself was a big confidence builder. I came home from Cape Cod and made a proposal for three different classes to the director of the massage school where I teach Kahi Loa . I have had these ideas for about a year now and had not moved on them. It's no coincidence that I easily took action after the conference. Thank you Serge and Pamela.
I also have taught Kahi Loa twice this spring at the massage school. I've been teaching there 2 1/2 years now four times a year. The reception from the students is so affirming. They really enjoy the work and they love how gentle and flexible it is. For many the class is not at all what they thought it would be, but they end up very happy with it. If anybody out there is thinking of teaching Kahi Loa, go for it. It's very special body work and the ones who understand that the most are the practitioners coming back for continuing education credits. They've been out there doing massage for a while and they "get it" right away - the principles, the way the client and practitioner are in silent communication, the power of intent and focus, etc.
Also this spring, I had a booth at a Body, Mind, Spirit Festival and I learned a great deal about what works and what doesn't (at this point in time and space). I had many people wanting Kahi Loa and few wanting to buy products. But I handed out a lot Pink Booklets and more people wanted to talk about huna than I had time for. I had two tropical bouquets to raffle off, but that didn't get much interest. I think it needed a "huckster" to bring them in and my helpers weren't the huckster types being much too dignified and quiet. So I lost money on that enterprise. I had hoped to be able to send a donation to AI. I did get a few pledges to The Aloha Project, but there again it needed someone who had time and knowledge to talk to people about it. I was too busy giving massages.
All said, it was great fun and a good way to bring a basic awareness of huna and kahi loa to this area. I'll do it again next year and I'm looking into another festival in a different area to offer Kahi Loa mini sessions but no raffle of tropical bouquets this time.
I want to give a special e-hug to Peggy for all she does for us and aloha nui loa to everyone until the next sharing.
Stefanie Doll, Certified Dynamind Teacher shares her recent experiences at the Grand Opening of her Dynamind and Reiki Center.

May 5, 2005 was the Grand Opening of my Dynamind and Reiki Center, in the Vita Classica Therme Spa in Bad Krozingen, Germany. It was a very rainy day and a lot of people had time to come to visit us, hear the Dynamind Demonstrations and enjoy Hula Dance. Serge came to make the big Opening with a Lecture about Dynamind.
Serge and Gloria arrived by plane in Basel, Switzerland at 4:00 PM, and my husband Udo and I went to pick them up. But there was a little misunderstanding - Serge and Gloria went out on the Swiss Side of the Airport, and we were waiting on the French Side. We were getting a little nervous, because Serge's lecture started at 6.00 PM and it was near 5.00 PM and we could not find them. We got the idea that they came out on the other side. I went out of the airport, and I saw Gloria and Serge sitting in front of the airport, and there was the Border Fence between us. So they had to go inside the Airport and they had to cross the French Border to reach us.
After all that trouble and a funny journey by car we arrived in Bad Krozingen at 5.30 PM. While driving to Bad Krozingen, sometimes Gloria did not know which country we were in, because they started in Munich, Germany; came down in Switzerland; had to cross the border into France. We were driving through France, and we were crossing the border to Germany -- and this all within 3 hours.
I started at 6.00 PM with the chant "Auhea na Aumakua" and then I tried to dance the hula "Poliahu." But I was under so much stress (and the pity was that I forgot that I am a Dynamind Teacher, so I really have a good tool to release stress) that I forgot how to dance, and I saw Brigitta Achermann in the audience, a really good hula dancer and a friend of mine. She did the movements and I could follow her. Mahalo, Brigitta!
Serge came on the stage and did the Dynamind lecture. A lot of people were interested and it is really fantastic that they came from everywhere in Germany to see him. After the lecture, people bought the DMT Books and were talking with Serge for a time.
After the Opening we went to our home where we had a Spargel (Asparagus) Dinner together with Serge, Gloria and Thierry Pfau. He came to share the time with us and to sell the really wonderful DVD's about DMT and the He'i (Hawaiian String Figures) with Earl and Lois Stokes.

Johannisfeuer Happening at Vita Classica
Every year the Vita Classica holds a big Party in the Spa on June 21 - we call "Johannisfeuer" - when it is the longest day in the year. Outside the
Guests can try free Lomi Lomi Nui Massages (10 min), Reiki and Polarity
and Ajurvedian Massages. When night comes they burn a big fire in the
garden. So this year the boss asked me if I wanted to dance hula, and it
was a great idea.
They asked me where I wanted to dance, so I made a joke and said that outside there is a big rock with a waterfall, and there on the top of the waterfall is where I want to do this. They said, "Oh great, it is a good idea." Oh Yeah!
There is an 80cm x 80cm rock - not flat, with plants - yeah, it was a
great feeling. They burned the big Fire and there on the rock there was a
little fire and candles. I was dancing "Kamalii o ka Po" and "Poliahu."
The people gave me standing ovations, it was a very good feeling. I felt
like Pele, because there was smoke in my eyes, I could not see anything and
there were little fire pieces on the rock. It was like fire walking, all my
attention was on dancing Hula and showing the feelings of the hula, so I could
not feel the heat.
